Tim Gets 3 Days in West Palm Beach

January 31, 2009

I had the opportunity last week to assist an amazing photographer that I know on a shoot in West Palm Beach, Florida. Needless to say the weather was amazing and quite a welcome break from the freeze we have had on the East Coast the last few weeks.

Great Wedding Favor Idea

January 20, 2009

Glenn and I attended a bridal expo this past weekend and met two lovely women, Lauren Brophy and Leigh Petroski. They are the proprietors of the Apple Valley Inn, a charming country inn located in Glenwood, NJ. On the grounds of the inn is the Candy Apple Shoppe featuring hand-dipped candy apples made fresh on premises. These are not your average candy apples. How do flavors like Oreo Cookie, Rocky Road, Heath Bar, and Chocolate Cake sound? I sampled the Heath bar and I can honestly say that it was the best candy apple I have ever had. How impressed will your wedding guests be when they receive a tasty apple treat. And as an added bonus they look as good as they taste.

Timothy Glenn Goes GREEN

January 19, 2009

Glenn and I have long been
committed to helping the environment. Photography in general has never been
known to be very green, but over the years we have allowed our love for Mother
Nature to guide many of our business decisions. Our choice to go completely
digital in 2003 was in no small part shaped by this underlying need. In 2009 we
have really tried to take it to the next level. Over the next few weeks many of
the environmentally friendly practices that we have had in the works will be
coming to fruition. We have introduced a Green Package to our wedding
photography coverage. This completely paperless product utilizes the latest
digital technologies to make photography about as friendly to the environment
as photography can possibly be. Going forward we will be using reusable tote
bags to deliver both proof products and albums thus eliminating the need for
either plastic or cardboard packaging. The most exciting aspect of this green
movement is our acceptance as members in Greener Photography. Greener Photography is a place for the photographic
community to consider the environment; learn to conserve and better preserve
our resources and images. It is a group that brings photographers together in
an effort to share suppliers, ideas, and methods so we can learn how each of us
can be more green, advocate for change within our field, and provide a place
for informed discussion about how we can make photography greener. We are super
excited to showcase all our new green offerings in the coming months so keep an
eye out for them.

iPhone App of the Week

January 17, 2009

Anyone who knows me knows
that for the last year or so I have been engaged in a love affair with my
iPhone. In my mind this little gizmo may be the most significant invention
since the wheel. The best part of this device is the ability to download third party
applications. In fact the Apple store has a whole section devoted to these
little wonders.
 I have toyed with
many and one of my faves is iWant. With iWant
you can look up the nearest restaurants, bars,
coffee shops, banks, grocery stores, theaters
(with showtimes),
you name it with the touch of a button. Your results include
a map, address, and phone number. You can even sort your options by nearest or
top-rated. You can also adjust the search radius to broaden your search. It does all this stuff
through the Google Map function of the iPhone. This app could not be easier to
use and best of all it was FREE from the app store. A must have for anyone on the go. I have attached a few
screen caps.

Happy New Year!

January 1, 2009

Greetings and Happy New Year from Coney Island

With Tim just returning from his trip to the West Coast, I decided to start the new year off by heading
over to Coney Island with my son Devon to watch the Polar Bear club take their annual New year's day swim in the frigid Atlantic Ocean. The bears swim every Sunday afternoon from November through April
but the New Year's day dip is the spectacle that draws the crowd to the Coney Island boardwalk at Stillwell Avenue. With temps and wind chills way, way below freezing, this was no day at the beach.
Actually it was… and a good one at that. Tim and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2009!
